ABOUT PHI SIGMA SIGMA SORORITY

Phi Sigma Sigma, "Phi Sig,"  sorority was founded in 1913 by ten women. Phi Sig is now an international sorority with over 60,000 initiated members. Phi Sig takes pride in the fact that it was the first nonsecretarian sorority (welcomed diverse membership at it's founding and is not associated with any one religion). It is our belief that "Once a Phi Sigma Sigma, Always a Phi Sigma Sigma." This phrase reminds us that the experiences we share and the bonds we have created with our sisters will always be a part of us, long after our college graduation.

Our Mission:

To inspire the personal development of each sister and perpetuate the advancement of womanhood.

Our Vision:

To be a dynamic sisterhood of powerful women fostering uncompromising principles, igniting positive change, and embracing individuality.

PHI SIGMA SIGMA AT MUHLENBERG COLLEGE

The Delta Lambda chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma reflects the values put in place by the founding sisters. We also pride ourselves in holding a consistently high overall GPA, and we encourage thoughfulness and learning. We are a group of individuals who share a common bond and support system. You'll often see many Phi Sigs in the audience of a performance, a lecture, or a game, cheering their sister(s) on. We also value leadership and service. Many of our sisters hold leadership positions around campus and are involved in many activites.

A few notable achievements of this year:

  • The Delta Lambda chapter was awarded Collegiate Chapter Membership Recruitment Award, Chapter Scholarship Award, and the Summa Scholarship Achievement Award. Our chapter also recieved Muhlenberg College's Academic Achievement Award for an impressive, comprehensive scholarship plan and a consistently high GPA.

  • Chapter founding sister Lynn Coffey will be presented with one of the highest honors, the order of the Sapphire Award!
